Make Your Protest Count

By 1968 the power brokers in this country had all ready learn how to neutralize the effectiveness of a protest march. Whether it’s the use of paid disruptors, citizens counter balancing through reverse protest or mass media counter messaging and redirection. The protest march produces little or no change in the lives of those it is designed to help. These marches tend to be more flash mobs on steroids with a lot of people talking loud and saying very little. More importantly, doing very little.

So the question/statement. Posed by Sean Connery in the movie “The Untouchables”. WHAT ARE YOU PREPARED TO DO!

First the protest methodology has to change and evolve. Less noise and more action. Instead of marching find the nearest run down neighborhood. In act a marathon clean and repair campaign. Ask the city officials and the police to help. Request to rename the subdivision in the name of the victim. Ask for dedicated foot patrols by police to keep the sub safe. Ask your fellow protestors to buy in, and move in to the subdivision. Re-define these subs as American zones. Diverse, fuel efficient, safe and productive.

This is not a pipe dream. This about real people doing real things for the long term social and financial development of their country. It’s the whole sale rejection of old destructive American social norms.

The important issues are funding, political social fall out, short and long term expectations
